Injury Prevention Service
This is all about doing the right thing to avoid needing physiotherapy treatment! Here we teach you how to injury proof your body using the most recent running injury prevention research findings.
We will look into the following:
- Your training load/volume/intensity and make recommendations depending on your goals.
- Carry out a running specific screening test to look for any restrictions in joint movement and/or muscle weakness that may predispose you to injury. The tuck jump test is included.
- Assess your running on a treadmill using a Garmin running pod to measure dynamic metrics and make suggestions if required. The following metrics are measured; vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length and cadence.
- Teach correct technique for the necessary strength and conditioning exercises, including plyometrics, for runners/triathletes.
