Movement and Muscle
Screening Assessment
Cost: 50EUR
There is more and more emerging evidence on the benefit of musculoskeletal screening in reducing the occurrence and recurrence of injury, both on and off the bike. Typically, recurring ankle, knee, back and shoulder pain can be down to poor movement patterns following ineffective rehabilitation after the initial painful episode. These maladaptive or poor movement patterns along with asymmetries in muscle length/strength are picked up during the screening process. This information is then fed back to the client in an easy to digest format, highlighting the areas that need to be addressed using a corrective exercise programme.
The screening looks at certain foundation movements such as squatting, lunge and step-up and also looks at specific movements associated with cycling and running. The range of movement around your joints and your core control will be measured. Much like the bike fit, video analysis may be used during the movement screening, where necessary.
Joint mobility, joint/muscle coordination and muscle endurance will be examined as these factors influence your ability to hold an ideal posture on a bike and they are influencing factors in the cause of injury in runners and triathletes.
